Governance
The Academic Board is the primary source of advice to the IVMA Board on matters relating to learning, teaching and scholarship. It oversees all academic functions of the Institute, including academic governance, curriculum development, delivery and assessment, while promoting academic freedom and guiding staff research.

Brings over a decade of senior academic leadership across curriculum governance and higher education strategy, with a focus on strengthening institutional accreditation and quality frameworks.
An expert in creative industries pedagogy with a research background spanning media theory and transdisciplinary teaching practice across several regional universities.
Extensive experience in academic governance, having chaired faculty boards and curriculum committees across several higher education institutions.
A working cinematographer and educator whose credits span commercial and independent film production across Sri Lanka's growing screen industry.
A post-production specialist with a background in documentary and broadcast editing, now leading the Institute's editing curriculum.
A former agency creative director who has judged regional advertising award shows and now shapes IVMA's advertising and storytelling programs.
Leads the Institute's overall strategy and operations, with a background in education administration and a commitment to expanding IVMA's regional reach.
An experienced arts educator and curriculum designer focused on connecting students with creative industry networks locally and internationally.
Oversees delivery of curriculum standards and academic staff development, with a focus on quality student experience across all IVMA programs.

The Academic Board meets at least four times per year. Additional meetings may be called with the Chair's approval.
The Dean is responsible for providing secretariat services to the Academic Board.

IVMA's Learning and Teaching Committee is a committee of the Academic Board. It is the principal advisory committee on learning and teaching, assists the Board in carrying out its academic governance and leadership functions, and provides recommendations on the maintenance of academic standards and high-quality learning, as well as on policy, initiatives, and innovation.
